Weight Loss Update!

Sooooooo if you haven’t read my story on here, Here is a quick recap:

I have suffered from a severe weight problem literally my entire life. Had terrible over-eating habits that stemmed from struggling with depression and anxiety, and a very unhealthy lifestyle. Well it eventually lead to my health going to complete crap. I couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, and basically had no quality of life. Towards the end of 2019, my doctors broke the news to me that if I don’t fix this now, my heart will not make it to see the age of 30. I was one more bad blood test away from being put on pre-diabetic medication, and my sleep apnea was so bad they have no idea how I haven’t had a heart attack yet. Well that was the final straw. I wanted my life back, and I will take my life back. January 2nd, 2020, I saw a Bariatric Surgeon, and began a diet to save my life. I lost 25 lbs. in 3 months, and on March 11th, 2020 I had the Sleeve Gastrectomy Surgery– basically had 2/3’s of my stomach chopped off so I couldn’t eat so much (the surgery is basically internal portion control). It’s by no means a quick fix, if you don’t eat right and exercise you can easily gain weight. Well I stuck to the diet, definitely had some slip ups along the way…

….But here is where I’m at now:

I’M DOWN A FRIGGIN’ TOTAL OF 94 LBS. IN 11 MONTHS!!! If someone told me a year ago that I could do that, I would’ve laughed in there face. But even better news: My heart is doing great, my sleep apnea is basically gone, my asthma is basically gone, I am no longer a diabetes risk, MY PAIN IS FINALLY GONE AND I CAN WALK AGAIN!! I Feel like I got a second chance at life. This was without a doubt the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, and there was a lot of bumps in the road, but it was the best decision I ever made. And according to the picture, I think it’s time for a new and SMALLER hockey jersey πŸ˜€ I still have a long ways to go, but thank you all for all of your support!

If anyone has any suggestions for their favorite food that could be made healthier, leave a comment and I will try to make a healthier recipe of it!

Thank you!!

I am currently on a health journey, and decided to create a blog to share my experiences and recipes to help those going through the same thing that I am. Changing to a healthy lifestyle is hard, but we are all in this together!
